GJK Expands Southeastern Presence with New Orleans Office

Gay Jones & Kuhn PLLC is pleased to announce the opening of its New Orleans office. Serving clients in New Orleans and throughout Louisiana, the office will be led by Jason Elam, an experienced attorney and Louisiana native.

Litigation in Louisiana continues to be a challenging jurisdiction for businesses. The 2022-2023 American Tort Reform Foundation’s (ATRF) Judicial Hellholes list included Louisiana noting “[m]eritless coastal litigation continues to bog down the state’s economy and drive jobs to neighboring states. Judges make headlines for all the wrong reasons and the state has opened the floodgates for COVID-19 litigation that has been stymied by other states.”
Jason is a Louisiana native who received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and his JD from Loyola University Law School. He has practiced in New Orleans for more than 10 years with several large defense firms. Prior to joining GJK, Jason defended companies and managed their toxic tort, personal injury, and national and international commercial litigation dockets. Jason practices locally in Louisiana and also manages litigation along the Gulf and Atlantic coast. He has extensive deposition and hearing experience and has tried cases in Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky.
